About the Examination: The examination is a computer based test administered by PSI Services LLC. You must first submit your application to the Board. They will review the application to ensure you meet the basic requirements. At that time they will send you a letter notifying you that you are authorized to take the examination. The cost of the test is $150.00. The test is 50 questions long and you have a 1 hour time limit. You need 70% (35 questions correct). The current study material is listed below. Shortly after placing your order you will receive an email with a link to download and/or access your test. In most cases it's within minutes. If you do not see your email from us within an hour, please check your SPAM folder. If you still do not see it contact me immediately at piprepexams@gmail.com. PSI is the testing agency hired by the State of Alabama to administer the AL PI examination. Click HERE to be taken to the PSI site page for the PI examination. This site contains all of the information need to prepare for and set up taking the examination. Once on the page, look to the upper right and find the "CANDIDATE BULLETIN" icon. Click on the icon and the bulletin will open. I recommend reading it in it's entirety.
PSI lists two reference materials they will have you study for the test. They are The Alabama Private Investigaton Board Administraive Code that can be downloaded by clicking HERE. The second study was listed above called, "The Professional Guide for Alabama private Investigators" can be found in the above dropdown menu called "State Examination Study Guide'.
